I often don’t notice change as it’s happening. Or, I take the little changes in stride and never notice the enormous difference the cumulative changes make.
A case in point: I moved into my current house in the late 1980’s. I took photos (on film with a less than perfect camera) at the time of both my “garden” (not a garden yet—just a yard) and Minnehaha Creek. Over the years I’ve taken a number of photos of both but it wasn’t until I was going through my old film photos that I truly comprehended the changes.
Regarding the creek photos: I tried this year to take photo from the Nokomis Avenue bridge of the little foot bridge again, but it just isn’t visible from there now. I took one anyway.
